Santa,
Rudolph, Frosty, the little drummer boy and
yes...even the reformed Grinch smiled down from
the North Pole this Christmas season. Volunteers
at Cornerstone Systems were busy little elves
donating money and sponsoring boys and girls
as part of the Youth Villages Holiday Heroes
program. Laughing, shopping, wrapping and delivering
gifts were the tasks at hand to ensure 30 children
at Youth Villages had a very, Merry Christmas.
Ranging
in age from 9 months to 19 years, boys and girls
alike received presents from their "wish
list" such as bikes and Barbie dolls, hot
wheel cars and GI Joes, football jerseys and
warm winter coats. It may have been cold outside
but Youth Villages and Cornerstone served up
a warm, love-filled holiday. Thanks to the generosity
of so many volunteers and sponsors everywhere,
the overall Holiday Hero program provided gifts
to more than 700 well-deserving children at
Youth Villages.

Youth
Villages helps more than 9,000 troubled children
and their families each year in Tennessee, Mississippi,
Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, North Carolina and the
District of Columbia. More than 90% of the children
come from families who have income low enough
to qualify them for state aid. The children range
in age from birth to 22 (the majority are between
12-17), suffer from emotional and behavioral disorders-physical
or sexual abuse-substance abuse or suicidal tendencies.
75% of Youth Villages children have multiple problems,
which may include developmental or learning disabilities.
Cornerstone is a strong supporter of Youth Villages
and their ongoing efforts.
